Officials Probe Cottonwood Plane Crash
COTTONWOOD — On Tuesday, an aircraft accident occurred in Cottonwood, leading to an investigation by law enforcement and other authorities. The tragic event resulted in the death of one individual.
The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office was alerted about an aircraft accident near Laurel Way in Cottonwood at approximately 3:35 p.m.
Deputy sheriffs and Cal-Fire staff arrived at the scene after being alerted and found an aircraft that had crashed into a field in the region.
The deputies discovered that the aircraft was being piloted by two individuals when it crashed.
One man died at the location, while the other was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office has reached out to the National Transportation Safety Board, who will look into the details surrounding the accident.
