Mario Cristobal and Miami Land Big Transfer Portal Pickup

Mario Cristobal is aiming to help his Miami Hurricanes advance further.
In the previous season, they achieved a record of 10 wins and 3 losses. At their peak performance, the 'Canes climbed up to the fourth position nationally. However, their prospects for a possible College Football Playoff campaign ultimately concluded with a defeat in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
Miami recently saw their quarterback Cam Ward go first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft to the Tennessee Titans, but Cristobal managed to secure ex-Georgia starter Carson Beck to take over those large cleats.
That marked a significant move for Miami. Additionally, the Hurricanes secured another key player through the transfer portal on Wednesday. According to Hayes Fawcett from On3, former North Dakota State running back CharMar Brown will join the team as a Hurricane in 2025.
Last season, Brown was phenomenal for the Bison. He ran the ball 244 times, amassing 1,181 yards and scoring 15 touchdowns during his inaugural year.
He will have three years to compete for three positions now that he's at Coral Gables, and he is expected to be a key player in Miami's strategies starting from 2025 and onwards.
"What attracts me to Miami is that my offensive style is physical and tough. I believe replicating this approach in the ACC will significantly enhance our offense, bringing something new and capable of wearing down defenses," Brown explained to On3 about why he chose to commit to the Hurricanes.
He's a robust 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, hailing originally from Omaha, Nebraska. He was considered a 3-star recruit in the Class of 2023.
He gained recognition during his time at NDSU, and now he has an opportunity to vie for a CFP championship with Miami.
Nebraska and California were also among the contenders for Brown's transfer commitment.
