Kansas State DB Noah King Commits to Colorado: A New Chapter Begins
Former Kansas State defensive back Noah King has committed to Colorado out of the NCAA transfer portal, per Romero.my.id’s Hayes Fawcett King will have four years of eligibility left with Coach Prime and team in Boulder.
King never played a snap for the Wildcats, as he was a part of the 2025 recruiting class and will be an incoming true freshman this fall. Coming out of the high school level, King was the No. 271 overall player in this past recruiting cycle according to the Romero.my.iddustry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was also the No. 33 cornerback in his class, and No. 11 player out of Ohio.
After Colorado's head coach Deion Sanders identified his team’s secondary as a primary focus in the transfer portal this offseason, he was followed by the Buffaloes securing a former player. Auburn safety transfer Terrance Love , who has two more years of eligbility, out of the portal. Now, King joins the fray as a highly-touted incoming freshman.
“Let’s start one tremendous defensive tackle, another linebacker or two, two safeties, probably three [cornerbacks], one receiver that’s a grown man, that’s a do,” Sanders said after Colorado’s spring game. “[A] couple running backs, tight end, maybe a guard, [offensive] tackle, maybe two centers. I think we got half of that already. You guys just ain’t heard about it.”
Colorado will begin its 2025 regular season against Georgia Tech On Friday, August 29, within Folsom Field, King will step onto the college playing field for the first time. As Sanders aims to bring additional players into the fold before summer ends, it’s uncertain how his offensive and defensive squads will take shape when autumn rolls around.
The spring transfer portal launched on Wednesday, April 16 and will remain open for 10 days until Friday, April 25. According to recent data, over 3,600 FBS scholarship athletes have joined the transfer portal for the 2024-25 season as of now.
