Man in Shock as He Continues Quest to Find Late Dog's Ashes in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A man from Kansas City is looking for his dog's ashes after reportedly a burglar took the urn from his girlfriend’s vehicle, alongside several personal belongings.
The Kansas City Police Department stated that they are also looking into the matter.
Benjamin Weiner stated that it occurred on Sunday afternoon outside Bally's Casino, close to Front Street.
"It's a box featuring his image, a small commemorative item," Weiner stated.
It’s clearly ash. I simply cannot fathom someone doing something like that.
Weiner stated that a burglar took the wooden urn from his girlfriend’s vehicle, which was parked in the lot outside Bally’s Casino.
According to the report, his girlfriend informed the police that she had locked the doors. Nevertheless, she acknowledges that she left a window slightly open for her dog.
Weiner thinks that's likely how the burglar gained entry, making off with luggage containing various personal belongings. According to him, they seized the woman’s identification documents, credit cards, as well as the vehicle registration.
"We were relieved to find that her dog was still with her; they left the dog behind," Weiner stated.
But they claimed everything else.
Weiner mentioned that they also took the urn, which contained his late dog Jack’s ashes. He had lost his four-legged companion in November following an unforgettable 11-year companionship.
"He held great significance for me; I truly miss him immensely," Weiner stated.
I truly just want to retrieve the urn since it's the only thing I have remaining from him.
Weiner reached out to the casino looking for security tapes. An employee informed them that Bally’s would get in touch with the authorities and assist with the probe.
