Angels' Mike Trout Leaves Game With Troubling Knee Soreness

The Angels' right fielder Mike Trout departed Wednesday afternoon's 9-3 defeat against the Seattle Mariners due to discomfort in his left knee, according to Los Angeles manager Ron Washington post-game statements.
In the top of the fourth inning with two runners on base and two outs, Jo Adell was called upon as a pinch-hitter to replace the frequently injured Trout.
In the first inning, Trout got a base hit with a single, and then in the third inning, he hit a ground ball to the second baseman. It appeared as though he slowed down slightly after attempting to stretch a routine play into an infield single due to some discomfort. However, he resumed his position in the outfield during the Mariners’ part of the third. According to Washington, Trout experienced some sensation in his knee upon touching the base.
A three-time American League Most Valuable Player and an 11-time All-Star, Trout has not participated in more than 120 games since the 2019 season because of multiple injuries.
This season, Trout has appeared in 29 games — matching the total number of games he played throughout the entire 2023 season. His performance at bat stands at only .179, with nine home runs and eighteen RBIs since shifting his position from center field to right field in hopes of reducing injury risks.
