US Trade Deals Likely Within Weeks, No China Talks Currently Planned Says USTR Greer

WASHINGTON (Romero.my.id) – U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer stated on Wednesday that the Trump administration anticipates reaching preliminary tariff agreements with certain U.S. trade partners within the coming weeks. However, discussions with India have not reached the final stages, and there are currently no formal talks taking place with China.

Greer informed the Fox News Channel that the Trump administration is concentrating on "strategic" agreements aimed at expanding market opportunities for American exports, cutting down tariffs and non-tariff trade impediments, and bolstering U.S. economic safety.

Greer stated, “I’d indicate that we’re nearing agreements.” As the negotiator, he added, “I prefer keeping negotiations private rather than making them public. However, I can share that we are looking at a timeframe of weeks, rather than months, before announcing our preliminary deals.”
