North Korea Touts New Bridge to Russia as Pillar of Economic Cooperation

SEOUL (Romero.my.id) – North Korea stated that building a new bridge connecting it with Russia represents a "substantial" advancement in their bilateral relationship, according to reports from state-run news agency KCNA on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Russia and North Korea commenced work on building a road bridge across the Tumen River. Although discussions about this project have been ongoing for many years, an agreement was reached during President Vladimir Putin’s visit to North Korea in 2024.
" It offers significant assurance for establishing and strengthening ... crucial infrastructure for economic collaboration and for energizing bilateral ties encompassing the movement of people, tourism, and trade," KCNA stated.

It seems North Korea has received both economic and military advantages as part of an arrangement involving the supply of weapons to Russia during its conflict in Ukraine. According to statements made by South Korean legislators on Wednesday, drawing from information provided by their nation’s intelligence service, North Korea is engaged in talks about advancing industrial modernization across 14 different fields with assistance from Russia. These areas include metallurgy, aviation, power generation, and hospitality.
